THE MADE IN TARIFA FOUNDATION OPENS TO PRESENT ITS “HAPPY INSIDE” PROJECT
Happy Inside is an experience of joy and PURE love. The objective of the Happy Inside project of the Made in Tarifa Foundation, inscribed in the National Register of Associations (Section 1, number 610754) is to raise funds to give life to the construction of the Happy Inside School in India.
After several years of work in the textile sector of this country, among others, Virginia Toledo found that a large part of the child population was in a situation of extreme social exclusion. He has been carrying school supplies for two years to donate to a school where conditions are very precarious, he says, in Rajasthan, India.
During this period he discovered that there was a section of the population not only without the means to attend a classroom, but also to those who were legally denied the right to education. An outrage in the nineteenth century, he points out. For this reason, the campaign to raise funds that will be used to build the Happy Inside School for these children is now beginning.
These are the untouchables or outcasts, a group that is not considered even caste, totally marginalized. They are often victims of violence and abuse. They are deprived of the most basic rights.
They are condemned to pick up garbage (even the excrement of other people with their own hands) and to perform agrarian or artisan tasks. A situation suffering hundreds of thousands of Hindus, mostly women, born and born for a century-old practice that should have been eradicated long ago.
Made in Tarifa renews as each year its commitment to the most disadvantaged to improve their living conditions and give visibility to the drama they suffer.
“It gives me a great source of inspiration to see that, with what little I can do here, it makes such a big difference there, that children may or may not have the right to education. Thanks to this initiative, I have found meaning in my work , My life and the way of approaching human relations, without much mental control and from a more real and direct place. To give this meaning to my work and, above all, my life is priceless
What began as a solo adventure of the hand of Virginia and her suitcases full of material, is on the way to become something of enormous magnitude.
The Foundation Made in Tarifa has enabled a solidarity account to raise funds that will go to the construction of the school:
