After the experience and success of the I Ecotourism Congress of Campo de Gibraltar, last 2018, the City Council of Algeciras bets on a second edition, with more content, new topics and business experiences.
Ecotourism is an engine of natural, economic and social development that in recent years has the highest growth rate within the tourism sector. Algeciras is currently positioned as a city committed to this development, through various initiatives such as the drafting of the future Urban Agenda or the organization of events such as the Environment Week, within this Strategy for Sustainable and Integrated Urban Development, co-financed by the European Union through ERDF funds.
The Campo de Gibraltar is one of the destinations with the greatest potential in nature tourism, and this congress grew out of the need to bring together ecotourism professionals to lay the foundations for a responsible and sustainable development of the activity, to work in a respectful with the environment, in a favorable way to conservation and in pursuit of an environmental education of society.
It is about promoting a meeting point in which to learn, contribute, discuss and build on the main ecotourism pillars, through lectures, round tables, workshops, recruitment and leisure activities related to the preservation and promotion of resources natural
Consistent with the philosophy of the Congress, we want to contribute positively to the climate and nature by holding a Neutral Carbon Congress.
It will take place on March 13, 14 and 15.
